Dang It

So, about a month ago, I broke my camera. I let it rest for a week and it miraculously healed itself. Sadly it broke again last week. I need to go buy a new one.

In the past couple of days I have missed:
-first time in a baby pool this summer
-jumping
-running through the sprinkler (she calls it her "pinklas") both Monday and Tuesday
-playing at the park with friends
-hanging out at the Play Station with our Mommy and Me friends.
-playing in the ball pit until forcible removed.

Hopefully this weekend I will go buy a new one and this silly matter can get resolved. For now, you are just going to have to imagine the cuteness for yourselves.

April 17-18 (Thanks to Picasa to remember the date for me) were beautiful days here. We spent a lot of time outside. Our favorite place to go this spring is Brucemore. It is an historical mansion and acreage about a block from our house. We love to walk over, walk through the gardens, sit by the pond and feed the ducks. We walk over at least 3 times a week. During the day, it is just Lulu and I. In the evening (and during weekends) we let Lee and Petunia come with us.Sorry if you get sick of Brucemore pictures in the coming months.

On this particular beautiful day, the tree across the pond from us was at the pinnacle of beauty. I love the blossoms and how they reflect in the water. As hard as I tried, I could not get Lulu to stand still so I could get her in the picture too.
These are our ducky friends.
Lulu's new favorite things are the white chairs. She loves to sit.stand in both of them. For this shot, she coerced her dad and Petunia to sit with her.
I must have been into nature shots...this are our crabapple and apple trees in the backyard. When we moved into the house (it was at the end of August), the crabapple tree was mostly leafless and kind of sickly-looking. We were about to cut it down, Lee had a saw to the trunk, and then we decided to wait a year to see if it was better in the spring. It was. Now I love it; my favorite part is the smell.

Another tree (this time in the front yard) that is beautiful in April and ugly in August. I also wanted to cut this one down.
We tore out 13 dead/dying bushes along the back fence and planted 9 lilac bushes. In about 30 years they will be a huge wall.
Lee's project for the spring/summer: scrape, prime and paint the garage. Our garage was built in 1915. It needs a lot of love. This is Lee showing off the first 4 feet he completed. Check back with us in September and see if he actually finished the whole garage.

Spring Photo Shoot

Excuse the chronology, but about 4 weeks ago the weather was beautiful and we decided to try to take some artsy spring shots under our weeping cherry tree. Of course the dog was included.

Sisterly love.

Daddy wanted in on the photo shoot with his girls.

So sad.

I am interrupting my April recap to bring the saddest news.

My baby is growing up; her hair fits into a ponytail.
She looks like such a big girl with her hair all pulled back.

I guess on the bright side it will be nice for summer. She will be able to keep her hair out of her face and off of her neck,

Nanny and Papa were going to drive to Katie's while Scott was at a conference in Kentucky, so the Girl and I hitched a ride. The first stop was the little park by their house. Macker showed Lulu how to ride a teeter totter.

Nanny snuggled with the babies after their naps.
Our evening ended with a group bath...

some borrowed pajamas...and a book being read by cousin Amelia.

Reading with Daddy

So...I haven't blogged in awhile. I have taken a million pictures, had neck surgery, coached tennis, visited the Murrays, broke my camera, healed my camera a week later, worked outside on the yard, and played with my ever-growing girl.

Last night I was doing dishes and Lee yelled, "You'd better get the camera and come in here." So I did. They were snuggling on Brutus (the large stuffed dog) and reading books.

I snuck in and tried to take a couple of natural shots, but then Lulu yelled, "pit-chur."

She kept saying, "cheese, a-gint (aka again)." So I happily obliged her.
