Big Girl

Thursday when I went in to get Lulu up from her morning nap, this is what I saw. She was very proud of herself. I guess it is time to lower the mattress again, huh?

Naples Part 2

Lee was a little tired after our boat ride/lunch/shopping trip. He wanted to sit on the balcony, but it was too cold, so he took a little nap in the sun on the floor of our room.
Saturday morning we had some breakfast and then decided to hit the beach before it got too busy. I decided to document the views from my chair. This was my friend, Obadiah. We hung out. He never strayed very far from our chairs.
Lee had a burnt ear and neck and his silly wife forgot the sunscreen. He improvised.
A very confident man taking pictures. How could I pass up the photo op, right?

Part of our fun trip included our choice of spa treatments. I chose the Milk and Honey Body Wrap. First the lady exfoliated me from ankle to neck with warm olive oil and sugar. They she rerubbed me with warm honey. They she poured warm milk over everything and wrapped me like a burrito with warm towels and then plastic wrap. After fifteen minutes they showered me down with overhead bar with 6 shower heads. It felt wonderful and I was silky smooth afterward...but I also was rubbing honey and sugar granules out of my hairline for awhile afterwards. Lee got a hot stone massage. I am sure it was wonderful, but nothing like mine...
On our last morning I was standing on the balcony taking in all of the sights and sounds and a dolphin was about 15 feet away from the shore swimming around.
It takes a guy secure in his manhood to carry a breastpump through the airport.

Everything was terrific, but I was ready to come home and hug my girl.

Naples Part 1

Lee and I had a fantastic time on our trip to Naples, FL. But really...it isn't hard to enjoy yourself on an all expenses paid vacation, is it?

Every night we had dinner with the other award winner, the President and VP of the company and all of the spouses. I am not really used to 4 hour meals. I got a little antsy toward the end. Every meal was at a different fancy restaurant. The meals consisted of chatting, ordering pre-dinner cocktails, selecting the wines for the meals, ordering appetizers, ordering salads, ordering the entrees, ordering dessert/after dinner drinks, and then chatting until everyone as ready. I think I gained a little weight, but it was totally worth it.

This was the view from out room's balcony. Notice the little sailboat. I thought it looked like a painting or postcard.
This was our whole group after dinner the second night.

Friday morning we went on a catamaran shelling trip to an uninhabited island. The first thing we saw as we sailed to our destination were dolphins. There were a whole bunch. Apparently they feed in the shallow parts of the gulf. Who knew?
Lee gets horrible motion sickness, but he was okay. He took a little Dramamine and dozed off on the way to the island.
Our Ziploc full of shells and miles of beautiful coastline. The water was a little cold, but the sunshine kept us warm.
Self-portrait on the return voyage.

Way more than 6 hours...

Lee and I leave early tomorrow morning. We are going to Naples, Florida on a trip he won at work. It should be a great time, but...I have never left my girl for longer than 6 hours (and that was with her dad). I know she will be fine, but I am not so sure about her mom. My parents are taking care of her the first two days and Lee's parents are watching her the second two days. I had a little freak out last night, but I feel better today.

A little bit of the naughty girl. She has not stopped moving for two months. Yesterday I caught her playing with firewood. I don't think she looks too remorseful.
She rolls everywhere she wants and sometimes gets stuck. She couldn't figure out how to get out from under the pew.
She is trying to crawl, but so far can only go backwards. She can get herself to her hands and knees, but then flops onto her stomach.

Speaking of stomachs...have you ever seen a better looking profile?

I'm Thirty and Fabulous** (or something)

** Thanks to Maggie for the title.

So, I am officially in my 30's. I don't feel any older except when I have to say it out loud.

Reasons I know I am getting older:
~I look forward to receiving my Redbook more than my Glamour each month (I even cancelled my Cosmo subscription this past year)...
~when I reference college, 10 years ago is not an exaggeration...
~when I talk to my friends on the phone, we talk about mortgages and life insurance (AKA we have gotten boring)...
~I like Gap's "essential jeans" because they have a slightly higher rise...
~my two classmates who had babies when we were all in 8th grade now have kids who can drive cars...
~I have former students who have graduated from college...

I could go on and on, but as the title suggests...I am still fabulous (although not right now; I am still in my pajamas and slippers). I wonder what will happen in the next decade. Maybe that should be tomorrow's post.

I'm Back!

So...I have been computer-less for almost a week. It is a little frightening how much I missed it.

Also, please leave me a comment so I can get back to your blogs. If it is private, please email me and invite me to view your blogs again (everything got wiped out). I miss knowing what happened to people. I have missed you all.

Just in case you missed the girl, here she is enjoying carrots...
