Nanny

I just want to start out by saying that I love my mother. I couldn't ask for a better mom, but sometimes she sets herself up to be teased. Also, for the record, i asked permission and she authorized this blog post.

That said, Kerstin, mom and I had a little ladies lunch yesterday. We had a nice lunch and just chatted. Nanny is usually so cool. All three of her daughters try to keep her from acting too much like the 65 year old that she is. She dresses cute, wears cute shoes and carries a nice purse.
When we were done eating, Kerstin and I saw Nanny doing something strange. She picked up her leftovers with her hands and put them in a single-ply cocktail napkin. We tried to tell her that sometimes the servers give a to go box for that sort of thing. Mom said no, and continued to wrap her food. She then did something even stranger...she put it in her purse. She was trying to hide it from the camera.
When she wasn't expecting it, I snapped the picture of her side of the booth. Crazy Nan, what was she thinking?
So, being a ladies lunch, we ordered dessert. As we sat there, Nanny got out her nice purse and pulled out an ancient Ziploc baggie. As we looked closer, we saw that it was her makeup bag. She even pulled out her fancy lip glosses and such to show that she wasn't a bag lady.
On the ride home, I turned around and saw that she was having a snack. Apparently she was digging around for something in her purse and stuck her hand in the food she "snuck" out of the restaurant in her purse. YUCK!

Thanks for being a good sport Nanny! We love you even when you are a strange-o.

Leave your mom alone. I've see you girls in action and you're the meanies. I use a ziploc baggie, too, Betty for my lip gloss. Sometimes it leaks. ; )

Nanny was such a good sport and Karoline neglected to mention that Mom treated us to lunch. Thanks Nanny! Love you. I agree with Lions - you are the best Mom :)

Hey, when you come to AZ can we all go out to dinner at Olive Garden? Nanny can hide breadsticks in her purse and we'll just keep asking for refills. Later we can freeze the 653 breadsticks that Nanny "lifted" and use them for the next 14 Christmas dinners.
