Bomb Threat-esque

This morning at school at the beginning of 3rd hour, our principal came on the announcements and told us that a students had overheard two other students talking about a bomb being at the school and wanting to leave. Then the two students left the campus. So, it wasn't technically a bomb threat, but we had to take precautions. We were instructed to take all of the students (1600+) onto the football field. Once all of the students were there, the teachers were supposed to go back inside and look around their rooms for anything out of the ordinary or suspicious. Once our rooms were secured all of the lockers and common spaces had to be searched. Those were the easy parts. FYI...as I started to walk down the hall, I thought, "I need to go back to my room and get mu camera. This is a blog post in the making..."
Here are the students being herded on the the field.
The aerial view (or close, it was from a second floor window).

Fortunately, the police stopped by to help us keep the students penned in. It was like they were in a zoo behind the fence.
Teachers trying (to no avail) to keep students from going home.
The line of cars with parents coming to pick up their children.
Some of us tried to make the best of 1.5 hours in the gorgeous October sunshine. I was helping to console these two distraught students.
This young man caught a quit nap in the sun.
And we even took time to enjoy the colorful foliage.
Never a dull day as a teacher...

So, they sent the TEACHERS back into the school to look for bombs? If you didn't already feel undervalued as a teacher, that would do it. ;) Haven't they seen that one Grey's finale where the bomb guy ate it?!? Glad it was nothing really and that you got to enjoy the great outdoors...

You don't get paid nearly enough. I don't even know how much you get paid....but you need a raise.

Robyn stole my comment, except for the Grey's part. I have no idea what that show is about. Of course, a bomb might have taken care of your mice problem.
